Privacy Policy

Effective 1 October 2026

Dwell keeps the record of your home — its rooms, the systems and appliances in it, their warranties, the people who work on it and what is in it — and tells you what is due and when you can get it done. It is operated by Memriq Holdings, Inc. ("Memriq", "we"), which is the controller of the personal information described here. Dwell never books, pays or contacts anyone for you.

What Dwell collects

  • Your account — your name and email address, and a password or your Google sign-in. One Memriq account signs you in to every Memriq service; being let in to Dwell is decided separately, by invitation.
  • Your home's record — what you type or keep: a name for your home, its street address if you give one, the hemisphere and climate band you choose, the year it was built, its rooms, and for each system or appliance its kind, make, model, serial number, install date, warranty and notes.
  • Photos and documents you add — of appliances, labels, jobs and the things in your home. They are kept with your Memriq account's attachments.
  • Home paperwork from your email, if you connect it or forward it — when you ask Dwell to look, it reads messages that look like a warranty, a receipt, an insurance renewal, a utility bill or a delivery notice. Each message is read once, in memory, and never stored. Dwell keeps only the facts you choose to keep, with who sent the message, its subject and its date.
  • The people and services who work on your home — contractors, services, utilities, subscriptions and insurers you add, their contact details, costs and the jobs they did.
  • Your household inventory — the items you add, the room they are in, when you bought them and what they are worth.
  • Your settings — including how far Dwell may act on its own.

Dwell does not buy information about you or your home and does not add to your record from anywhere else.

How it is used

  • To show your home's record, work out what maintenance is due and why, and suggest appointment windows that avoid your calendar and the dates you are away (read through Helm and Drift when you have connected them).
  • To read an appliance's label from a photo, or a message's home facts, when you ask — as a proposal you keep or dismiss.
  • To put a to-do and a reminder in Helm when you ask, or when you have chosen to let Dwell do it.
  • To produce the inventory export you download.
  • To send the messages you asked for, such as a waiting-list confirmation or an invitation.

We do not sell or share your personal information, and have not in the past twelve months.

Who can read it

Everything Dwell stores about your home — your address, your appliances and their serial numbers, warranties, contractors' contact details, costs, jobs, inventory and the facts kept from email — is sealed with a key belonging to your account before it is stored. Only your account identifier, internal record identifiers and the times a record was written are not sealed; none of those says whose home it is. Your street address is never sent anywhere: the season comes from the region you chose.

Services that process it for us

  • Railway — runs Dwell's servers.
  • MongoDB Atlas — stores Dwell's records, sealed as described above, in the United States.
  • OpenAI — the language model Dwell uses to read a label photo you ask it to read, to read a message's home facts (with names and addresses removed first), and to write its plan in words.
  • Cloudflare — receives the email you forward to your Dwell address and passes it to Memriq.
  • Resend — delivers the emails described above, through Memriq's one sender.
  • Google — signs you in, if you choose Google, and holds the email or calendar you connect.

How long it is kept

Your account and home data are deleted within 30 days of your account closing. Support messages are kept for 2 years, server logs for 90 days, and billing records, if you ever have any, for 7 years. Backups can hold deleted data for up to 35 days before it is gone from them too.

Deleting it, or getting a copy

In Dwell, Settings › Your data has "Download everything" and "Delete everything". You can also write to privacy@memriq.ai: we acknowledge within 5 business days and finish within 30 days. The same address gives you a copy of what we hold, or corrects it.

If you are in the EU or UK

We rely on the contract with you to run Dwell, on our legitimate interests to keep it working and secure, and on your consent for anything else. Your information is processed in the United States under Standard Contractual Clauses. You may complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the new version is published here with its date before it takes effect. Privacy questions: privacy@memriq.ai. Anything else: hi@memriq.ai.
